Hi hi all 247782

Lovely to hear from you and you are the only person I know to have 6 Ekkies!!! sorry to hear about Kiwi though, how sad and sounds like a one in a million accident too.

Had to smile about the Ringnecks & their noise. I have Moustached Parakeets indoors - pets, but they breed too. It's amazing the amount of noise a small body can generate!

thanks di there really noisy lol there mainly left to them selves over at his.
and for small bird they dont half go on one hahaha

thanks shell sorry meant to join ages ago just kept forgetting im terrible lol

my eckies have both a communal avairy were they can hang out on sunny days and they also have cages indoors but the two that share a cage prefer it outside more then in so they stop out there now

im about to rebuild there flight to include a lower ceiling and include a small floating river with waterfall hopefully if my skills are upto it lol but it should be good for the pluckers and snippers i have

im just waiting for the weather to sort itself out so the concrete doesnt runaway before it sets

Hiya Jay and welcome to the forum, poor Kiwi Sad I like ekkies, but they seem more prone to medical problems than other birds? Do all yours get on ok?

yeah they are prone to alot of illness most ascociated to people thinking they have the same diet as a normal parrot. they need alot of sun and plenty of good quility fruit veg and such like.
they get on fine mostly the females are the bosses the males dive out the way when they start moving around the room and aviary we have had a couple of incidents with toe biting but nothing to serious someone is always at home with them.

hi parrotmum eckies hate each other especialy males and females in the eckie world males are good for one thing breeding and thats it the hens do all the incubation and will sometimes have 3 -5 males feeding her but if they dared go in her nest box they would be missing some feathers/ toes

Hello Jay!!
Welcome to the forum!
I have an ekkie called Bonnie, I think she is a cross breed, defo a bit of Vos in her though! It was hard to tell as she was so 'colourful' when I took her on! But now at long last she actually looks like an eclectus after a year! lol
I love her dearly, but I think one Bonnie is enough for me!! lol
Look forward to hearing more about your birds, would love to see some pictures!
Michelle and the gang!! Smile xx
