Storms again

Post by Di T on Tue Jan 03, 2012 7:11 pm

Anyone know if the Sancutary is okay this time round as the whole country seems to be battered by storms last night and today.

Island Parrot Sanctuary An external gate and some fencing have been lost but our wee aviaries are holding tight. Let's hope they continue to do so. Grandma, our oldest resident, who has survived multiple strokes and has lost her sight in one eye, LOVES the storms. She is rarely out of her hide but always comes out for the gales. She is currently shouting "wheee" at the top of her voice. I'm sure if we had an African Grey translator present we would be told that means " You may take our gate but you'll never take our aviaries!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!‚Äč"

Here you go Di, that was 9 hours ago, so hope they are ok.

latest update...

Island Parrot Sanctuary The birds are all safe Lynn, thanks for asking. We just hope that Spring hurries up! xxx

Island Parrot Sanctuary
Hi Lynn, We are fine thanks just one roof damaged and our gates blown off. The sad thing is things like hinges and door bolts are all twisted after the many storms we have had. We will need to be replacing as many as possible over the next few weeks. The birds gladly are becoming old hands at these storms and seem to be none the worst for the one this morning. Me on the other hand have aged at least another 10 years LOL. Vonnie xxxxxx

Aw bless them all, so glad to learn everything's not too bad so far. Because I know they've had a rough spell there recently I keep wondering how they're all getting on. It's good to keep up to date, I'm not on facebook, so this is great, thanks.
