Hi to all!!!
I think I'm kinda doing everything backwards as have already posted a couple of things.
My name is Caz I share my home with 2 cockatiel hens, a very head strong indian ringneck, 2 dogs, 1 boyfriend and 2 parents, they're the hardest work
I found out about the forum from Scarlettes website, I love Harley's diary. I'm always looking to share tips and ideas when it comes to birds and am looking forward to getting to know everyone.
P.S. my job means I'm not around all the time so any replies might take a while.

Hello Michelle thats right Timnehs seem to be scarce. When our avian vet suggested we got a friend for Tim we advertised in the parrot society mag for 2 months before we found Fez,Tim is very small & light in colour where as Fez is a big bird & darker.

Re: Hi to all!!!
Rob and I would love to have a grey but we just haven't got the room at the moment
But with any luck that will change by the end of the year
We're also not sure how our ringneck would take to having another bird in the mix. Knowing Oscar he'll probably find a way to terrorize it.

Re: Hi to all!!!
why not offer to safe house greys for rescues?? that way you may find one that fits in with your family??
But be carefull what rescue you use as some will not let the bird stay EVEN if it gets on with the rest of the family xx

Re: Hi to all!!!
It's certainly an option. I'd have to find out more about it first

it's not that I don't love the greys. It's that the greys don't seem to like me... instantly

fez Our male Timneh hates hands too & is very cage agressive. we cant blame the poor bird, we put it down to the fact that hed never been let out of a small cocktiel cage for 3 years before we re-homed him. Over the last 4 years Dave has learned to clean the cage out quickly without getting bit, but he does get took off guard every now & again & recieves a right nasty bite

Re: Hi to all!!!
I thank my lucky stars that mine don't bite. Occassionally they'll threaten, Pepper gets really moody during moult and the breeding season and Donny would prefer to be left alone most of the time but I think I can count the number of times I've been bitten on one hand.

Can anyone tell me more about Fostering parrots? I've browsed the web a little but I'm having trouble finding a UK based programme

Word of warning, just be careful which 'rescues' you approach, make sure you research well and read any agreements you sign and keep a copy.
