Sorry had to do that!!!
As Trustees, and with comments from our 'die hard members' who we value greatly, we agreed the facebook was not helping what PP stands for and that our ethics and morals were being lost and dissolved by squabbles and people out to have a dig. We do want and are sorting out a new forum/website thingy but in the meantime this is the face of PP. Please help us welcome people and remember our aim is support, education and help owners to develop or improve the welfare of their birds. We want to help change views and attitudes and may not like some things people say or do but with grown up discussion, without nasty personal attacks, we can hopefully make changes step by step and improve the welfare of birds we come in contact with xxxxxx
Thank you for staying with us and please help us stand up as a group that is a little more 'out of the box' and more sideways thinking than some out there x
Sorry... found this quote earlier and rather like it! ”The two most powerful warriors are patience and time.” …so remember: great achievements take time, there is no overnight success.Leo Tolstoy...

We're being called and slated on facebook... well I am at the moment ... but they will find elsewhere and someone else to bitch about soon so we can get on and do the important stuff ... help people with their birds, educate and re-home if needed. x

personally I think its a very brave and bold move by the PP team all the other "birdie charities" have regular loads of hassle from FB people and never seem to be able to rise above it they damage their reputation and it wastes good energy and members become so hurt by the people, after all how do we know that those who are slating are actually "what it says on the tin" or that the people receiving the slating can cope with that is being dished out after all they come to ask for advice and help instead when they are at their lowest get hung drawn and quartered.  PP is about HELPING both bird and owner created by people who know that change is sometimes hard and slow but its about support given via sound knowledgeable, information and putting time and effort in, receiving little or no reward but the occasional thank you but do it regardless. Well done to the Admin Team for taking a decision that other charities seem unable to realise and take.

The people slating you Kate, oh and PP on face book will never, ever in a million years come asking for advice because they know it all.

Spoke to Shell earlier and was pleased that she had closed the FB, or at least stopped all the crap that Kate seemed to be faced with every time she wrote anything.

To stand up for your beliefs and not be knocked down takes some doing so well done Kate, well done Shell for 'locking' the threads.

I'm trying to direct people over here but will probably spend less time 'over there' too as it is as I said before 'a negative, time consuming addiction'

lets get some topics, loads of photo's, that's my favourite part, on of all our chickes!

I am behind the PP forum 100% I must admit I have frequented the FB page a lot as it is just so easy to use. Looks like I will have to brush up my Photobucket skills. Beware folks, I am going to bore you all to death with my parroty pics!

OK. From feedback we are aware that facebook has its uses..... some of the Trustees feel its important that we do not completely cut the facebook page so we are going to give it a last try but with a slightly different approach. We will close the old one and start again. We are calling it Problem Parrots Extra to make it clear it is an add on and not a complete representation of what the welfare organisation and this forum is about. Hopefully this will allow people access to us and share knowledge etc but it is clear that it is not the 'face of us' if that makes sense. Shell and I are going to manage this forum with support from as many of you as we can drag in and Hollie and moderators (nice regulars on the fb page) will monitor and admin the facebook extra site. This is the opening post. We are just waiting for all Trustee's to give it the ok and then we will open it ... transfere documents from the old page and hopefully attempt to have a civil fresh start. Yet we have all agreed if it starts getting out of hand it will be closed down. I hope you dont feel let down but we also need to consider all ways of helping to improve parrot welfare... this is the pinned post..
Kate x
Problem Parrots Extra is the facebook link for Problem Parrots Welfare Organisation. This group is so people who would rather use facebook than our forum at [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.] can still chat a share pictures and ask for help. We welcome all parrot owners and people who are interested in them. However, would like to add that although this group will be moderated we would like people to consider before they post and ensure that personal criticism is refrained from. Open discussion, focusing on the welfare of birds is our aim. We welcome all types of bird keepers with the main aim of improving bird welfare. Yet we would like to clearly state that as an open group not all the posts, comments and images will represent the views of the Trustee's of the Welfare Organisation.
