Well.............
I have joined this forum as I have made one of the most heartbreaking decisions ever. Due to a relationship break up, I have given away my beloved birds who I had for 15 years to a new home. Sad I always vowed that if I was unable to give them the attention they deserved, it would not be fair to them for me to keep them.
They have gone to a person on this forum who was recommended by three people and so I know really that I have done the right thing for my birds.
I am sure that I will hear about them on here from time to time.

Hats off to you for putting your birds first, there are many who, somewhat understandably when you think how attached we become to them, would rather compromise their birds wellbeing and happiness for their own. It must not have been an easy choice to make, along with the relationship break up you've probably had a pretty hard time of it. Hopefully reading through the forum, you can see that everyone here might be a little bit crazy, but we love our birds!

What a heartbreaking decision, one we all dread having to make.
Sad
But, you have bravely done it and put the birds welfare foremost for which you must be applauded.
I too am sure we shall all hear about their new home and how they are, I have a strong feeling they will be very happy and well cared for. Very Happy

Hello
Welcome to the forum. Sorry to hear you have had such a hard time of things lately. It is so upsetting, especially after having them for such a long time, but you did what was best for the birds and you couldn't ask for more than that. I am sure they will be loved and more than well cared for if someone here on the forum has them!

Hello,
Glad you found your way here.
It was a terribly sad decision to have to make but am glad they have gone to the home you chose where they will be well loved and cared for, and also have companionship of other birds.

welcolme to the forum, so sorry that you had to make the decision to re-home your birds. I think you have made a good choice using this site, as now you know where they are and with someone of your choice, this hopefully has eased your hearbreak a little x

So sorry for the rough time you are having at this moment in time. Especially having to give up your birds, but you were brave and strong to put their needs first and I applaude you for that. Would like to think I would be as brave and strong in the same position, but we will not know how strong we are until faced with these awful dilemmas. Hope things improve for you now and you wll have peace of mind knowing your birds are in safe hands and being cared for. Good luck.

Les is painting the walls, thought it was just one but he's said what colour do i want this and that so I'm not complaining!! The front room has a raspberry colour on two walls, which we really both like but there is some bits that visiting birdies have ripped into so I'm going to get a tester pot to cover those bits up!

Nothing exciting Very Happy

Hi Marjy, you have to cover up spots like me then? Wonder why??? Not long done our chimney breast in a rasberry red coloured paint that was identical to the paper that used to be there. Now I am down to the plaster in a few places, that comes through white! Will have to do a quick repair job on that before long.
So pleased that the move and settling in with your friend has gone off so well for the dear birds. Looking forward to hearing lots about them in the future. God bless. There are so many kind people in this world after all.

I've been to mandy's this morning....met the new chickes, absolutely gorgeous Laughing

Speedy and Charlie were sharing a cup of tea with me! shady Lady, the beautiful grey responded to me, said something but couldn't work it out!

Speedy, female Ekkie, Charlie Moustached parakeet, so gorgeous! all settled well, Chloe also a moustached parakeet flying about the play area, charlie acting as though he owned it, Speedy stuffing her face and giving me kisses. the little pionus was enjoying himself in the avairy with the other aviary birds.

So gorgeous!

No....I always forget to take it.....I'm always far too busy cuddling birdies to take photo's!

i'll make a point of taking it with me next time!

Anne, thank you for your comments:) i'm lucky to have them! they are all hale and hearty, All the cockatoo's were out in the aviary today when it rained hard, even Charlie got out there and had a good stretch of his wings to get wet, it's lovely and funny to watch!

Thank you everyone for your kind words of welcome. The house seems empty without Shady Lady chattering away, but it is just so heartening to know that they are settling in so well. Thank you so much Mandy for taking on my little group. It's lovely to hear of their progress.
Give Charlie a kiss from me.
