Introducing myself, Welshanne.
Hullo everyone, been tempted to join by a dear friend of mine who is already participating. Have not been too sure on how to go about it, but here goes.
I am a retired nurse just getting over a subarachnoid haemorrhage and subsequent surgery etc. I have five parrots and love them to bits. They have been my saving grace.
My Rock (that is what I call my husband John, and son Steve) have looked after the parrots and myself wonderfully while I recovered.
Leroy is my first African Grey of 12yrs old, turned out on DNA to be female, but still kept her name. She talks up a storm.
Scooby is our second African Grey a rehome of about 6yrs old and talks as well.
Rambo is a timneh Grey fostered with us from desperate conditions and very poorly but now a bundle of health and bonded with our son Steve. He just says "hullo" and mainly whistles.
Chaz is a hybrid Macaw of about 8yrs old, a cross between a Patagonian and blue/gold the experts have said. Does not talk has a cry like metal on metal! but my gentle giant and getting tamer daily. He grew up with a blue front Jay who is as aggressive as he possibly could be to just me. I have to stay out of the room when he is free. My husband manages him. He just says hullo and is about 16yrs old.
Think that is a long enough post even for me!

Re: Come on new members
Hi everyone! Di told me you were all congregating here and it pleased me so much, not lost my old friends then and will hopefully gain some new as well.
Will have to work out how to post my pics of Chaz and that may take awhile!
Hope you are all well and especially your dear birds.

Re: Come on new members
Tried photobucket with my pics and got nowhere fast! That is the usual with anything I try on this machine. Talk about making me want to pull my hair out!
Would love to have my avator with my name but will have to wait until my granddaughter Kim next visits and can help me sort it all , she is a wiz kid and will have it done in a shot. This growing older lark has its downside!
Kim may be able to post a pic of Chaz our hybrid Macaw at the same time. They are all outside in the sunshine this morning and loving it. the best thing ever was John fixing sets of wheels onto their cages and they go everwhere by the handles he made to stop them biting you as well.

Hi Scarlett, lovely to be able to speak to you once more! Hope all your dear birds are enjoying life still. Are you taking them on walks still in their carrier? Have you settled in well into your beautiful new home?
Once the grass starts growing you are going to be kept quite busy on the grounds I expect. All that lovely fresh air though. Bet you can't wait.
