Come on new members

hi im elaine owned by a b&g shes 14 months now got her at 5 months.shes my world love her to bits we have such a close bond.cant imagine life without her shes my 1st macaw,i also am owned by a yellow capped amazon that i was given,shes about 40 now always was locked in small cage and didnt like ppl ,i had her a day let her out never locked her up and she came to me on her terms the previous owners was shocked,sadly shes slowed down i think is alot older than i was told.ive had her a yr now and think ive given her a good life.ive got alot to learn about parrots and will always ask for help,it breaks my heart reading about rescue birds that have been abused

yes it does, thankyou everyone for the welcome.it does break my heart.Sky is my first macaw always loved them but was scared of their beaks,but now i trust her so much yes i know i could get nipped but if you treat them with the respect and love they deserve it wouldn't be out of malice.My amazon i'd hate to think what she went through in her life, i might not have many years left with her but shes a happy old lady now

Yes, mine too Laine, I have 11 babies, 2 of which are rescue's whom I love to bits!

Most of mine are so naughty, they drive me mad sometimes, I love them laods though:)

11 wow im looking for playmate for sky at mo and i mean playmate not breeding love macaws.my ideal is a hyacinth lol cant afford that so im looking to adopt a greenwing so many sad birds about makes me cry

There are so many sad birdies, that's true.

Have you tried the rescues? ie, BL, but yiu will have to ask for a macaw! Parrotcare, to mention a few.

No really the time I was on facebook all I saw was, what I had for dinner, how Pi**ed I am, or I'm off to the pub to Pi**ed or I'm going to the loo! I can really do without that to be honest!

I think it's a waste of valuable time to be honest! Just my view of course, anyone else is welcome to waste time!

Hello I am Lynn from Baillieston, Glasgow. I have a Blue & Gold Macaw called Bobby who is about 3 years old, we got him in Jan this year and really know nothing of his past, he was being sold in a pet shop for someone who had moved house! So far he has been admited twice to the vets with breathing dificulties, he to go back next Thurs for a check up so fingers crossed. He is a bit of a screamer and is a bit n the bossy side! We also have a 5 month old miniature Jack Russell called Belle.

We have a Scarlet Macaw (possibly 2) and a Greenwing with breathing problems due to Aspergillosis, do you know what`s causing the problems with your Macaw?

Hi, Bobby & Belle were getting on ok but now he gets a little annoyed cause she wont keep back when he is with me..... jealousy reigns!!!!

Hi, he been tested and nothing showing, he is on sporanox just now. Will be asking questions on Thurs when at vets and let you know xxx
